Juanma Draven

"My first memories about music take me back to the early 80’s, shortly after I was born, to the songs that came out from the radio that was at my grandma’s home. By the time that decade was coming to its end, I already had a few cassettes of music. In the 90’s, the music TV channels and the CD’s broadened my taste and knowledge of music, not only with music of the 90’s, but also with all that was made before. And then with the new millenium and the new technologies, the amount of music I have listened to has been increased by thousands of songs.

For me, music is just a fundamental part of my life; I have no idea of who and where would I be without this passion towards music that I have got. For me, every moment has its song, and every song has its moment.

Nevertheless, it was not until I was 21 years old that I started to play the guitar and sing. I loved music so much that I finally felt the need to know it better and to play the songs that I liked. Since then, I haven’t stopped playing and singing in Spain, where I come from, and in other places where I have lived, like England, Sweden and now Finland.

During all these years I have taken part in a few bands and have collaborated with a few dozens of musicians here and there, in studio recordings and mostly in live perfomances. In addition to this, currently I sing and play the acoustic guitar in a rock band called Carved in Ashes, making our own music.

And I hope that music never stops playing in the soundtrack of my life."
